With all of the videos we produce the aim is to get views and as many of them as possible. Some clients we work for are more interested in the type of people they reach rather than how many. But even in those cases they still want as many views as possible. And they should.
As we’ve said before, there are a number of factors in getting video seen:- good content; talent; socialisation; tagging; effort and captivating thumbnails (i.e. what the user sees before they click to play).
This video we produced for /football YouTube channel video has just hit 400,000 views. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sqHocS6zbkI. And it’s going up 5,000 per day.
It was launched in April and goes to show that as long as a video is up on social media it has the opportunity to be seen. This video has caught some momentum and will no doubt keep going. Our first 1 million video beckons…
So the message is: yes a video requires lots of views, just don’t think it will happen in week 1.
